NJC Pay Claim 2026
Following the ballot for industrial action, despite an overwhelming majority in favour of taking strike action from the ballots returned, the 50% turnout threshold was not met in enough large employers to have the impact needed to improve the offer.
The employers' offer of 3.3% has reluctantly been accepted by the joint unions and will be implemented as soon as possible with back pay from 1 April. Please visit our NJC pay claim page (on the homepage) for more information.
Too hot to work? Help us change the law
Climate change is making heatwaves more frequent and severe, putting workers at risk.
We’re calling for stronger laws to protect you from excessive heat at work. Heat risk is not just about temperature. Humidity, poor ventilation, physically demanding work and unsuitable protective clothing can all make working conditions more dangerous.
Write to your MP and help us secure stronger protection at work.
