Unison is the largest recognised trade union in Enfield Homes with approximately 100 members.
Enfield Homes is a private organisation so it was necessary to form a Joint Negotiating & Consultation Committee. A constitution was drawn up between Enfield Homes and Enfield Unison which agreed that trade union representatives and officers of Enfield Homes would meet to discuss and consult on issues relating to staff and any intended changes to procedures and practices
The meetings are chaired by the Chief Executive and are held quarterly.
There are currently 6 Unison Reps in post and they meet on a regular basis, they are available to help and give advice on any problems in the workplace and they are afforded time off to carry out these duties. They are supported by an allocated caseworker, Christine Sesstein and Paul Bishop, Branch Secretary. There are two Health and Safety Reps, one at each site.
We are looking to improve membership numbers so please encourage your colleagues who are not members to join. They can do this on line at the Unison website or contact the Unison office for a membership form telephone 020 8379 4084.
